Okay so before i start posting lyrics, i'll tell you a little info about the band and about my music history.
It all started back in 2003 when i first listened to alice cooper, however at the time i was not into rock or metal i was into Emo music / Punk and indie and a little hardcore. So, back in 2003 while listening to avril lavign i had thought about creating my own band, since i already sing and play the drums so at school since most of my friends loved music and loved playing music, i talked to them about the band idea and they loved it. So after that, we grouped up more and talked about it more even decided on a name for it called it Heart of Darkness which of course sounds a bit gothic however our band was to play the emo music genre.
So i asked a few friends if they wanted to try out, come over to my place after school we can try out there of course i had already got the singer now i just needed guitarists and a keyboard well since many of my friends played guitar and piano i got them to join, so that day after school we started practacing. Eventually we came up with our first song, love is a chemical reaction back at the end of 2003, in december of 2003 we played at a pantomime for this christmas play and so our first song got it's chance of being sung. The audiance loved it they even got up and danced! after that i said to the band members we should write some more and see what we can do, then some guy comes along and congratulated us on the band asked if we wanted to go professional; i refused as for this was only an after school thing and something to do on the weekends we werent a proper band like we had just started out and so we needed to do a bit more.
In 2004 we lost one of our guitarists Sean williams because of an accident that i cannot exactly explain with out getting myself upset about it, so we stopped for a few weeks until we could find a new guitarist. We then found one, he was the cousin of my girl friend of which she was the lead singer of the band. So we started up again and got back into playing music and writing lyrics we played at many gigs we played during school plays and we also played at a few pantomimes and short shows. However in 2005 we stopped playing due to some problems with band members, and mainly because of issues of my own i had to stop the band, though both my gf and i kept on going until finally in 2006 the band was reformed. Though it was not long before we had a major set back, now with school exams on the way most was not able to come to practice nor was able to play at all because they had to study which was perfectly fine since we could still try for the weekends, in september of 2007 we lost the keyboard guy Teddy o'rouke because his family had moved away to australia. So again the band was stopped for a while, for us to sort out what was to happen eventually in 2008 the band was once again reformed but this time with a new name and a new genre of music to play.
The band was re-named to Zodiac, and the new style of music we played was rock though some of the old band members was still in the band also doing their studies we got a new keyboardist which at the time was a very good mate of mine, i used to listen to her play the piano a lot when i was a kid she's very talented and if there was or is ever a chance that the band is to split up for good then i know she'd go solo and maybe become famous one day.
Not much happened in 2008, we mainly wrote songs and done a lot of practice before we could do anything else...
In 2009 the band was re-named to Eternal Rest after we had lost out lead singer Nina Fitzgerald as for due to family issues it forced her to quit the band, though still singing today she's now the leader of a new band called Chem!calDisaster which i'm also the drummer of.
After her leave we now have a new lead singer, Hannah O'connor which also is our keyboardist; hannah is known for her melodic singing she is now currently studying music under the vocals category as for she aims to improve her vocals a lot more, for the time to come the band has a lot of gig to play at in 2009 however fears of a clash between Emo & Rock / Metal bands may see a lot of duets to come.
